Beaches are still empty. I would bet everything I own that no one will be fishing today either because of the weather. I have not heard about any stripers being caught from Graveling Point yet. Well it looks like this weekend is a wash with all the rain we are supposed to get. Only good thing is all the warm rain could warm the waters temp. Ocean water temps are in the lower 40's (around 43). This could be the storm that will get the surf started this year.

Every report I have heard from Ocean City area says the only action is back by the power plant in Beasleys Point.I went back to see if the pier was still there. It is and it's free. Water temps are already in the lower 40's. Should not be long now and we should start to see the ocean come to life. I heard that some people are already fishing Graveling Point but with no luck yet. Bloodworms have been the bait of choice. If I get enough requests I will try to get a flat or two in. Email me with your requests.
Some stripers are being caught in the back bay by Beasley's point on Finesse during the outgoing tide.
Also there have been some reports of stripers being caugh in back of Atlantic city and in Great Bay

The NJ Marine Fisheries Council and the ASMFC has approved some more options for the up coming fluke season. The final regulations will be finalized on March 4. The council meeting is to be held at 4 p.m. in the L. Manuel Hirshblond Room of the Toms River Township Office at 33 Washington Street.
